Cosmetology
Course Description
The cosmetology course meets the minimum requirement by the State Board of North Dakota and North Dakota licensing and regulations has approved its school and curriculum. The scheduled finish time for this course is 11 months. Students attend full-time. Phase I is the initial basic training. Phase II building on the basics. Phase III is becoming self-sufficient and increasing speed. The course focuses instruction on tasks such as nail care, skin care, shampooing, hair cutting, hair styling, perm waving, chemical relaxing, curl reformation, hair coloring, and other tasks related to overall grooming and personal appearance.
The cosmetology program is designed to prepare students for the state licensing exam and for entry into the beauty industry.
Program Length
The Cosmetology & Cosmetology MT program is 1,500 clock hours and takes 11 months to complete. Upon completion of the program, graduates will receive a Diploma.

Esthetics
Course Description
The esthetics course focuses instruction on tasks related to skin care such as facials, waxing and makeup application. The Esthetics Diploma Program is 600 Clock Hours and takes 18 weeks to complete. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will receive a Diploma.
The esthetics course is to instruct students on the artistic and scientific principles of esthetics including theory, concepts, and applications. The course includes the study of esthetics and incorporates the study of communication skills specifically designed for the spa environment. The Esthetician program is designed to prepare students for the state licensing exam and for entry into the skin care industry.
Program Length
The Esthetics Diploma Program is 600 Clock Hours and takes 18 weeks to complete. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will receive a Diploma.
MT Esthetics
Students who intend to work in Montana upon graduation may elect to enroll for an additional 50 hours at a prorated rate. This 650 -hour program can be completed in 20 weeks.

Student Educator Training
Course Description
If you have a passion for cosmetology, nails or esthetics, have your North Dakota Cosmetology, Nail tech, or Esthetics license, love to share your knowledge, and help others, we have the perfect career for you. At HSI, we offer 160, 480, and 960 hours of training depending on your years of experience in the beauty field. Student Educator Program will prepare you to become a North Dakota State Licensed Educator. Our program is flexible and offers a hybrid program so that part of the education can be done online and the rest in person at the Hair Society Institute of Cosmetology school campus. This program is available for any Individual that has received their cosmetology, nail tech, or esthetics license and has a desire to become an educator. The amount of need training hours is based on Experience in the Field but you can enroll in our Student Educator program straight out of cosmetology, esthetics, or nail tech school without any other experienced needed. We will train in person on the job to earn your educator license. The in person training is also paid $15 per hour! That is right, you can advance your career and while you are being trained as an educator on the job and receive wages. You cannot get better opportunity than that!

3 + years Cosmetologist experience - 160 Hours - $2,065
